On November 22nd, in Misano Adriatico has taken place the seminar “Meno auto e più relazioni sociali”. Relators were JOHAN HEICHELMANN, from Danish bicycle Embassy and PAOLO GANDOLFI, architect, urbanist and promoter for a law on cycling in Italy.
Discussion focused on the idea to promote the use of bicycle, not only through new bicycle lanes, but also operating on lifestyles, on good practises, on assessing how using a specific mean of transport is affecting social relationships.
These considerations are related to students education, especially the youngest.
Misano is already commuted in a number of fronts: building of new lanes, creation of “30 km/h zones”, establishment of guided routes for school access by feet (Piedibus), triggering of bike sharing and others like the preparation of a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP).
A further step is represented by moving to active policies to favour sustainable mobility. Through direct users’ involvement that leads to better air and climate quality.
The seminar is part of the dissemination activity of EU project MOBILITAS, Interreg Med programme, on sustainable mobility and IDEAL, Italy Croatia programme, on climate change.
